Learn Chess from Scratch – 12-Month Course

Welcome to this practical chess course for beginners. If you have ever thought, “I would like to learn, but it seems complicated,” you are in the right place.

What You Will Achieve in 12 Months?

  • Play complete games with confidence, without moving blindly.
  • Understand basic tactics to win pieces and avoid common mistakes.
  • Learn how to start a game with good judgment, without memorising openings.
  • Master simple endgames so you do not lose winning positions.

And most importantly: enjoy chess and improve week by week.

A Course Designed Not to Bore You

Here, we are not going to dive into endless history or pointless theory. The idea is simple: we get straight to the point from the very beginning, with short, practical explanations. Each week, you will have a specific topic and a small mission to apply on the board.

Course rule: if something can be learned by playing, we will learn it by playing.

Real Photos and Board Examples

Whenever we explain a move or a position, we will do it using real board photos. This way, you will see everything clearly, without confusion and without relying only on diagrams.

The Move Notebook: When We Use It

If you have purchased one of our products, you will receive a notebook and a pen. This notebook is not just a decorative gift: it is part of the method.

We will use it when explaining games or move sequences.
We will use it when you learn how to record your moves and your opponent’s moves.
We will not use it during weeks focused on simple concepts, to avoid overwhelming you.

Course Structure: 12 Chapters, 12 Months

This course is organised by month. Each month includes 4–5 weekly posts, always following a clear and easy-to-follow progression.

  1. Start playing without fear: the board, the pieces, and your first mini-games.
  2. Think before you move: avoid common mistakes and protect your pieces.
  3. Rules that change the game: castling, promotion, and key concepts.
  4. Basic checkmate: learn how to win with simple patterns.
  5. Notation and notebook: learn how to write down moves with example games.
  6. Basic tactics: double attacks, pins, and tactics that win material.
  7. Simple strategy: development, the centre, and coordination without technical language.
  8. Openings without memorising: principles and 1–2 simple systems.
  9. Annotated games: learn by following real games step by step.
  10. Essential endgames: pawns, active king, and common endgame positions.
  11. Improve day by day: habit, simple analysis, and real progress.
